Little Libraries Initiative

As the Community Engagement Committee Co-Chair, Rachel and her team is helping to bring together the local community to increase access to books and build literacy throughout district’s neighborhoods. Using donations from companies, both local and national, these Little Libraries are built by adult volunteers and painted by Rachel’s students from the Student Equity Council at her school. Once complete, Rachel and her team hosts an “all out” unveiling event for each new Little Library, which include dancers from the schools as well as a local dance studio and a free treat to celebrate!
